The art of endgaming

I see a lot of end-gaming going on.

Let me describe end-gaming: The term comes from Game theory: . Basically, it means that people behave as if the economic activity they are indulging in is going to end next turn: next year, next quarter/ next transaction. Usually people like to increase goodwill with business associates along with higher revenue. But in end-gaming it is a free for all of "Beggar thy neighbour"

There are naturally a lot of people who are like that, they believe that someone who leaves money lying on the table in a transaction for Goodwill is a “C****” (Hindi Expletive).Caveat emptor is only the beginning when dealing with them. But a lot of Indians are also socially minded, they believe that cheating is not good

I do not know what it is: the current economic condition; where people are actually having zero visibility beyond the next turn, the previous Bull Run; where most talent was devoted to grabbing a bigger share of a pie which was growing due to external reasons and given the sudden shrink, a sense of confusion? What is the reason that I see a lot of end-gaming going on around me? Positional bargaining is more prevalent rather than negotiations.

I do not know what will happen of all this. Will there be a business environment of more mistrust? Or will everyone be forced to be more assertive? Like the proverbial fire tempering steel?
