PCs rock : or why Game consoles are Bad.

Now, I do not consider myself a Fan-boy, I am merely stating some facts:

My PC, assembled from off the shelf Items with the help of a friend in 2003, is still working.
While, Xbox 360; assembled from custom designed GPU and off the shelf Items by a team of experts gets the Red Light of death



or worse, scratches the expensive disks (console games cost at least Rs. 500 more than PC versions) one bought



And not to be outdone; PS3, also assembled from off the shelf Items by another team of experts brings the Yellow light of death.



The last video throws up some very interesting points:

• The gas in the contacts revealed by the ray and the solution of cooking in the oven gives one an impression that loose contacts and improper soldering is the major problem Does it cost Sony more than 180 pounds to simply check the solders and redo it right? Even with the additional cost of PR for cover-up?

• Sony representatives said that they were following “industry standards” .However they did not accept that when releasing me too online capabilities on their console or more recently motion sensing controllers. Instead they were raving about a gaming experience like none other

• Lastly did anybody notice the girl at around 6:35? The one who does that girly clap girls like her buy and worry about the well being of PS3 instead of being repulsed by the mere sight of it ? She does that in-spite of what Ivy Valentine in Soulcalibur IV and this ad along with its worse cousin did to women’s self respect?Given what EA did for upcoming Dante’s Inferno? Knowing what Sony did to promote God of war: the game with a particular mini-game not to be described in polite circles?In a world where men consider themselves lucky to find a girlfriend who tolerates their playing shooters , girls like the one above are precious.
